Merry Christmas everyone!
Skyler, Janelle, & Avery

My family and I took Avery to the park the other day. She had so much fun playing on the slide! My sister, Nicole, would take her to the top and my mom and I would catch her at the bottom. Avery would giggle the whole way down and then say "again!". Avery also enjoyed picking up the bark and putting it on her head. Her uncle, Tyler, taught her that it is fun to put things on your head. My mom and Nicole had tons of fun on the teeter-totter. I think they had more fun than Avery did! We took Avery's cousin, Sadie, to the park a couple of days later. The girls had so much fun playing together. There is a small river that runs next to the park that the girls enjoyed putting their feet in. We had a fun day at the park!

Our fourth of July this year was spent in Wyoming. Skyler's has family that live there so we went for a family reunion. We had a ton of fun! We went to the head of Swift Creek and rode motorcycles and four-wheelers one day. While we were there I lost our car key. Luckily I was able to find it though. The next day we went to The Intermittent Streams. This place was really neat. It is a huge waterfall that during certain times of the year will completely shut off for about 20 minutes and the whole stream will run dry, unfortunately we were there during the off season. It was still really neat to be able to hike up to see it. On the Fourth of July we went to Skyler's uncle's house and watched fireworks and roasted marshmallows. That was a lot of fun because we were in Wyoming where the big fireworks were not illegal. The next day we were able to participate in the dedication of the Civic Center in Afton. Skyler's great-great-great grandpa was honored there for being the first mayor of Afton. Following that we watched the parade and returned home.
Avery is always trying to be just like her dad; whether it is talking on the phone, playing the drums, or riding the motorcycle. Whenever Skyler will let her she loves to take rides up and down the driveway. The first time she ever got to ride she shouted out "Yay!" and by the end her little fingers had to be pried off of the handlebars.

We have discovered that Avery loves to be at the lake. We took her a few times last year, but she was so young that she just lounged in the boat. This year, however, we had a hard time keeping her out of the water. As soon as I would let her, she sat on the swim deck and put her feet in the water. Moments later, she was trying to scoot off and into the water. Skyler jumped into the water and Avery went in after him. After swimming around for a while we decided it was time to strap on the wakeboards! It was a great day of boarding and Avery enjoyed holding the flag whenever we would let her.

Today I received a phone call from the principal at Greenwood Elementary School in American Fork. She offered me a part-time, fourth grade position in her school. I, of course, accepted. My contract starts on August 14th. I will be working Mon.-Fri. from 12-3:45. These hours are perfect for me and Avery. We will have plenty of time to play together in the morning. I am very excited!
Skyler and I met when we were 12. He lived in the house behind mine growing up. When we were in Junior High we would ride the same bus to and from the school. Skyler would walk the long way home just so that he could follow me as I walked home. Ten years later we were married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Today we have the cutest one year old, named Avery!
